Hi, I’m Olav Bjørkøy. I’m currently serving as a journalist in the Norwegian navy. Later this year I’ll begin my five years of studies at NTNU in Trondheim.

I blog about design and writing, and how these play together on the web. Being both a professional web designer, and an online journalist for the Norwegian Navy, I try to impart the wisdom (and stupidity) I encounter on a daily basis.

I have my own web design firm, which you can visit at bjorkoy.com. Unfortunately for most of you, the text is in Norwegian, which I’m sorry to say is quite unlike any form of English.

• Being a journalist in the navy is something special.
• WordPress powers this blog. Previously I’ve used my own blogging system, but I switched, since WP makes the posting process more enjoyable.
• Opera is my browser of choice.
• My design is built upon the great K2 theme system, created by Michael, Chris and Zeo.
• Friends do not let friends use Internet Explorer.
• This list is not finished. And it never will be.

Photography

I love Flickr, and use it a lot - both to see other peoples work, and to share my own. I take pictures with my Canon EOS350D camera, though I’m still learning how to use it.
